Does anyone know of a way to make PMDC use https// without adding http// in front of it?

Having http//https// at the start of the URL always returns an error and no download.

As the PMDC readme states support for http and ftp but not https I suspect the only way is to contact the author/maintainer and ask them to add support for https .

Tried that, the website is defunct and I got an unknown from the e-mail address.  Such a pity it has been a very good program but now I suppose I will have to find something else to use.

Can I suggest awget, https://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/apps/internet/mirror/awget-1-8-2.zip a front end to wget. Can monitor the desktop or the clipboard or a folder for urls, supports http, https, and ftp.
