Changing video driver on ArcaOS?
« on: September 09, 2020, 10:02:40 pm »
Hi All

I remember that eCS had a "video wizard" to change from SNAP to Panorama or vice versa does ArcaOS have something similar hidden somewhere?

If not do I have to uninstall SNAP, reboot in vga, then install Panorama?

Regards

Pete

I haven't heard of a tool to do that. I don't remember the details, but I have one older system that has the SNAP software on it, but it is using Panorama now. I think that all I did was install Panorama, and it took over. Be sure that you have the full installer, some of the test versions are meant to be installed over an existing install.

BACKUP first, then try it. If you have a secondary (test) system, try that first.

Yes, I've missed the eCS wizards, too. It has video, postinstall, mmecs and acpi wizards. The later ArcaOS versions have improved installations, e.g. WarpIN scripts, to make most of them superfluous.
