 Hi Tellie,

Unfortunately, there is a problem using Tor with our FireFox and https:// websites. Try http://hobbes.nmsu.edu. It should work. But https://www.os2world.com will not work. The last FireFox that worked with Tor on encrypted connections was FF 17. I reported this way back then but it was never fixed. Hopefully the new Chrome based browser, when it comes out, will work with Tor on encrypted sites...

My Vidalia is 0.2.21... is there a 0.3.1 for OS/2 somewhere? It looks like Hobbes is now https:// too (haven't tried in a while). See if http://www.davemckenna.com works (or any non-encrypted site)...

Hi TeLLie and David,

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I have no problem opening https:// sites like hobbes and os2world as well as sites in the US like https://www.breitbart.com/

Yes, I will admit there are a few sites that I can't open but that is because I will not let the 40 odd bits of java script they want to pull in from odd places run.

Hi David, have you tried playing with various settings in about:config? Might want to backup prefs.js first.
Try putting TLS in the search bar, try changing security.max.version and min.version. Play with the spdy stuff. Same if you search for HTTP, play with the spdy stuff and anything else that might be useful.
This extension, https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/seamonkey/addon/config-descriptions/versions/1.0.1-signed.1-signed will add some descriptions to about:config settings.
