What happened to the hardware database on ecomstation.ru?
« on: December 13, 2020, 09:21:26 am »
Wondering what happened to the hardware database at ecomstation.ru:
http://en.ecomstation.ru/hardware.php
It used to have great lists of tested hardware but now all the entries seem to be blank when I click the categories (such as motherboards, network cards etc).

If it's dead then maybe i'll consider making my own site for the same purpose.. since it was a great resource and a shame to see it disappear.

Hmm...not sure, but I did spot the following error message in the corner of the page:

"...Can't connect to MySQL server on '127.0.0.1' (61)Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '\socket\MySQL' (49)Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '\socket\MySQL' (49)..."

Given that it's pointing to 127.0.0.1 maybe there is a miss-config somewhere on that box, perhaps the MySQL server/service is down itself?

You could use the one at OS/2 World.

https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/Category:Hardware

I found the one at eComStation.ru a bit limited because the entries were not dated, and much of the hardware was no longer available. I'm sorry its gone, I suppose.

Hi David

Let me know if you want to add any hardware you may want to report working under OS/2 or ArcaOS.
You can include it yourself to the wiki, or just post here what you want to include and I will help you.

Ask Eugene Gorbunov, you can send him an email eg at ecomstation.ru

Thanks for the tip - that resource is great!

Hi David

I noticed on some other of your posts that you installed ArcaOS on real hardware and you are doing fine.
Do you want to report the hardware you are using so I can add it to the wiki.

I have this article that explains how to extract the pci.exe and lsusb report.
