Tux Football not running

(1/3) > >>

Martin Iturbide:
Hi

About: tuxfootball-0.3.1-os2.zip

Tux Football is not running at all for me. I try to run it on OS/2 windows and full screen session and I see like a quick command prompt window that disappears and I can not get any error. Nothing in POPUPLOG.

It uses SDL as I can see. I have:
- LIBC066.DLL -  3-28-20  - 316,502
- STDCPP6.DLL - 7-22-20 - 1,182,921
- GCC473.DLL - 7-22-20 -  4,119
- SDL12.DLL  - 10-05-20 -  278,457
- SDLMIXER.DLL - 10-05-20 - 954,603
- SDLIMAGE.DLL - 10-05-20  - 733,447

If the game is running for someone, please let me know.

I would try an older build of sdl12.dll - unfortunately there are multiple builds floating around that aren't compatible with each other....

Hi Martin

The current SDL12 RPM package does not contain most of the required sdl*.dll files

I unzipped the dll files from the sdl package recommended in the readme.os2 file into the same directory as tuxfootball.exe

The game now almost starts by double clicking tuxfootball.exe; the window appears onscreen with 2 lines of text, 2nd line being something about "rendering pitch" and then locks the system requiring a reboot.

Hi Paul

Almost... Based on your suggestions I tried this versions that I got on some other game.

11-05-08 - 106,574    ---  FSLIB.DLL
11-05-08 -  188,402 ---  SDL12.DLL
 1-21-07 -  554,915  ---  SDLIMAGE.dll
 1-21-07 -  412,322  ---  SDLMIXER.dll

Now it tries to show something on the black screen... like .. "Starting Renderer ... Loading Pitch" and it disappears again.

Hi

I had go back to "SDL-1.2.15-20140930.zip" Tux Football now freeze the VM and Top does not want to kill the app.

I'm thinking it may be also a problem with the libc, gcc or STDCPP libraries, like something broke with newer libc libs.
