KeePassX sounds good and along with KeePassXC, were recommended to me on other forums as cross platform.
Yes, KeePassXC is probably the best and safest one. Local storage only, no browser add-ons, no mobile versions, no telemetry, implemeted 2FA. It was recommended to me a from the data center of our institute a few days ago. I've read that it started as a fork of KeePassX. I'll start with KeePassX on OS/2 in the future.
BTW: KeePassXC uses Qt 5 and has no OS/2 port. KeePassX uses Qt 4 and an OS/2 port exists.
