What does file say about it? Might have to install file with ANPM or yum install file. "file share.$$s"
Edit: fix typo

It is a old package from 1994. But it only has this file called "share.$$s", but I don't get what to do with it.

Code: [Select]
This file is a spreadsheet for OS/2's Spreadsheet Applet.  Although most
people think this applet is pretty useless, I've found it to be prefect for
calculating the grocery bill, or any other shared expense.

My roommate and I go grocery shopping together, but not everything we buy
is for both our use.  So some of it is shared, some of it is for me, and the
rest is for him.

This spreadsheet takes the total amount, the total tax, and the portions
for each roommate (before tax), and calculates how much each person's share
is.  It supports up to three people (with minor changes), but it's currently
configured for two.  More can be added provided you make space for the
fields.

Field B1 is the total tax.  Field B2 is the total bill, including tax.
From this information, the computer calculates the tax rate, assuming that
each item is taxed the same (even for groceries, where not all items are
taxed the same or at all, this assumption works well enough).  Then fields
B4 through B6 contain the total cost of personal items _before tax_.  This
system works great for recepits from Giant or Safeway.

If you want to use three people, you will have to modify fields B11 and B12
and put a formular in field B13.  The result i:

B11: F8/3+F4
B12: F8/3+F5
B13: F8/3+F6

A linefeed character (ASCII 12) is placed in field A15 so that you can
print multiple sheets, each on one page.  Field E1 is for the date.  The
information is verified via the "Error" fields that calculate the margin
of error.  You might need to hit Recalculate (^R) to synchronize everything.

Is it a spreadsheet in some kind of format? Maybe IBM Works?

Did an old version of OS/2 have a spreadsheet applet? Perhaps as an example program. I tested ver 2.1 at one time and it had some different programs installed but can't remember what now and have never installed anything older. Sounds like it from the readme.

Yes, some 2.x versions had a tiny spreadsheet and PIM.

Thanks. I'm getting close.

Because of you feedback I remember that an old IBM PIM was upload to hobbes. (PIMApps_1-0.wpi)

I was able to find:

Daily Planner            - .$D$
ToDo List       - .$T$
Tune Editor/Tine       - .$$A
Planner               - .$D$
Database       - .$$F
Note         - .$N$
Sticky         - .$$P

No spreadsheet there.
But now I will check an old OS/2 2.x VM and see if I can open the spreadsheet.

Thanks.

Hi.

Here I have another "WillowTalk" on OS2site. For what I see is a Windows application.

I had run it with "pe wtalktry.exe", it will in compress setup.exe and will stop there. I had uncompressed the exe file by had and try to run SETUP.EXE and it does not work with Win16 or Odin.
I'm not sure if this program was compatible or how to install it.

Hi Martin, merry Christmas.
It's an installshield archive, there's a couple of programs on Hobbes (search for installshield) but likewise they don't want to run here.
Running strings.exe on setup.pkg gives this,

Hi

I found EarthANI from the 16bit era:
It says it is a "an Animated Desktop Extension for OS/2  v1.0" but it is not an .exe file, it is a .ANI

Any idea what it is ? And if it runs on modern OS/2 just for the fun of it.

ani files are animated mouse cursors (from memory)

PS, should be usable under Warp, eCom or Arca.

The readme is pretty clear it is for https://www.os2world.com/wiki/index.php/Deskpic which doesn't seem to quite work right here. There may be missing BMP too.
