recommendation for KVM
« on: September 23, 2022, 06:04:11 pm »
KVM stands for “Keyboard, Video (monitor), Mouse.” The main function of a KVM switch is to control, switch between, and manage multiple PCs or servers via a single keyboard, monitor and mouse (also referred to as the 'console').

I also share audio. I use an analog VGA KVM today, but I'd like to upgrade to a digital 4K monitor. An HDMI KVM sounds attractive. Has anyone got one that they like?

Does HDMI audio work in uniaud?

Hey Neil,
Does HDMI audio work in uniaud?

Not currently - but I'd like to try and get it working... It's definitely on the list once https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002642282828.html arrives. Whilst I could connect one of my thinkpads to a TV via HDMI, the mini PC will be far more convenient for testing (let's hope ArcaOS installs on it!)

Cheers,

Paul

I have two 4 port units working with out problems (for over 12 months).

TCNEWCL HDS-4P  4-Ports 4K HD KVM Switch.

Try and get one of the early ones they have an illuminated remote switch, the newer ones just have push button remote switch which means you need the main unit visible to see which computer is the active one unless you know a way to force panorama to remember which large wide screen resolution you want if all the computers are powered off at start.
