Iomega Rev , USB, UDF
« on: December 28, 2022, 01:14:38 am »
I have an Iomega REV USB Disk Drive; im using latest ArcaNoe-OS in VirtualBox. In OS/2 i can eject the disk in the drive and the drive is recognized (as removable media drive) in OS/2. But i cannot read, write oder format the discs: "The drive or diskette is not formated correctly"

The special about the Iomega Rev Drive is, that the changeable discs are harddisks BUT they are formated with UDF and windows thinks they are writable CDROMS
In Windows you can only format them with UDF.
In OS/2 the UDF-IFS-Driver is loaded but that doesn't help.
The DVDtools in OS/2 did not work with that drive.
Trying to format the disc in the OS2-commandline didnt work, SYS1303 or SYS0530
Is OS/2 not able to handle UDF?

OS/2 only has an older UDF compared to Windows.
You might have to treat them like a USB Hard drive or USB stick, use LVM to format and give a drive letter, which could be * so it takes the first free letter and then format.
Not sure if you can format UDF, something like format x: /fs:UDF might work and Windows might read and write it.
