I'd be very surprised if the 'normal' libcn behaves any differently...

Spoke to quick, using set EXCEPTQ= is enough. Simplebrowser uses a lot of CPU, 2-3 cores and the page becomes unresponsive, still scrolls. After about 5 minutes, using less CPU, 30% average instead of over 50%. Closed fine except for complaints on the console,

Lots of room on the file systems.
It's interesting the difference between single and multi mode.

 Yep... needed a new profile, now html5test.com works and shows 472 (less than when running on QT6.3.2 - 522). Paul, I'm having trouble downloading from you again - really slow and stalls.

 One thing I've noticed with both QT5 and QT6 Doobles - if you go to 'Tools'-> 'Search Engines...' then click 'Add Checked' nothing happens. I know this used to work - maybe a Dooble regression? I tried the QT5 10.15.2022 version (the only old one I had around) and it worked. Anyone else see this?

Per my post on the uniaud thread, I just restarted the upstairs router (again). I'll replace it with a spare this morningand hope that corrects it.

 Thanks again! Got the 'silent exit' libcn version, added 'EXCEPTQ=3Z to the environment for Dooble6 and grabbed the 2 easiest traps - one for trying to open a private window, and one for trying to load YouTube - for your viewing pleasure :-) Be interesting to know if they match what you get...

For Private window - I get a console message: "Single mode supports only single profile." So this may be a limitation of running in Single Mode....

Yes, private window does work without single-process mode.
This build did load YouTube OK, while scrolling trying to find something worth watching the desktop froze. Afterwards it was back to vanishing, crash in libvpx MMX code again I think, which is weird as MMX should be fine.

the libvpx crash is really weird, especially as it  doesn't  seem to happen if we load  the code from a DLL <shrug>

I'm guessing the high cpu/hang loading youtube is due to javascript, but that is a bit of a WAG...

  This one seems to support all the same video formats as QT5 - h264 works fine (no h265 though) on https://tools.woolyss.com/html5-audio-video-tester/ . Still can't get YouTube to work - usually crashes, sometimes hangs (but 1 time worked).

  One difference I noticed on that test page - using QT5, some of the audio tests present a 'certificate error' page that you have to accept an exception for it to play. On QT6 you never get the exception request, it just doesn't work unless you check the '-ignore certificate-errors' setting, then they work. (Edit: maybe related to https://github.com/psmedley/qt6-webengine-os2/issues/11)

  I also tried turning off single process mode and indeed could use private windows - thanks for the tip Dave! Not very usable though - rendering seems slow and jerky for some reason...

There's that MMX crash again. Is the libvpx that Sylvan uploaded to netlabs-exp new enough for Qt6? It's version 13.1, libvpx8.dll

Yep - webengine needs >=  1.10... in checking this, also discovered that quite a few internal system libs  weren't being used - I probably ran configure before applying https://github.com/psmedley/qt6-webengine-os2/commit/a678cf7ed5e72b458e00c82e82e443e8aea8d49b
