Dmitry doesn't seem to like submitting patches upstream, too time intensive.

I raised the PR last night, this morning my time, it was accepted. I get that on some projects, it's too time intensive, but if you don't at least try, then you live with the extra time/effort of re-merging every time there's a new release.

I get that with something like Qt, there is an almost zero chance of the patches being accepted, but I figured it was worth a shot.

P.S.
Just tried youtube and hung system despite the mpunsafe. It is not immediate, has one processor at 100% for 30-45s before the hang and if I close dooble (before system hang) it leaves a hung process that I have to DosKillProcess.

Tested the same way here, performance was crap on Youtube, barely able to scroll a bit while seemingly hung and after some minutes, it hung the system.
Andy, as you seem to be more affected, perhaps an issue with Bitwise is called for? Youtube is the only site so far that has hung the system here.

Tried to watch Big Buck Bunny, as a test of the libvpx, https://studio.blender.org/films/big-buck-bunny/, it crashed in libvpx/source/libvpx/vp8/common/x86/subpixel_mmx.asm by the looks of it.
Trp attached.
Edit: It was the Youtube stream it tried to play. I'll try a local copy.
Edit2: The only one that seems to play is the OGG, h264 just triggers a download even with Paul's latest with H264 support. The performance of the OGG is iffy as well. https://download.blender.org/peach/bigbuckbunny_movies/ has various copies.

Actually the OGG plays terrible in SM as well. Tried the 320x180 mp4, didn't think it would play and then it did, once again with crappy performance. Perhaps need to undo the mpunsafe.
BTW, to go full screen with Dooble, do CTRL-F11 instead of the usual F11.
Edit: the OGG's work well without mpunsafe.

@Martin - can you add the following apps to test to the 1st post?

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/focuswriter-1.8.3-qt6-20221128.zip
https://smedley.id.au/tmp/scribus-1.7.0svn-os2-qt6-20221204.zip
https://smedley.id.au/tmp/tea-qt-62.0.2-os2-qt6-20221204.zip

@Roberto - are you able to confirm the issues with special characters also exist with one one the above? (Suggest tea would be the easiest to test with)

With tea I can write \|@{[]
With tea I can not write } euro

With focuswriter I can write \|@{[]#
With focuswriter I can not write the euro caracter , in this case the focus go to menu focuswriter
But after run focuswriter I start tea again for test #, and after this I can write in tea utf-8, all caracters.???
My codepage is 850,347
With scribus --fail to me I can not start it--
In google password with |@ send mi to another tab open.
In google password with \[]{ without problems
In google password with #} only no display de key. The caracter ? in black is euro, I can not write here too.

saludos

Thanks Roberto - do these work in Qt 5?

Hey Dave,

Yeah I saw that hang with YouTube too. I frankly have not much clue what to do with a dump - using them to fix a trap in unique is one thing, debugging a hang is another.

On other news, the dooble maintainer accepted the patches for os2 in https://github.com/textbrowser/dooble/pull/157

I'm not sure if bww ever tried to submit these previously.

OS/2 is now listed in README and README.md as well at https://github.com/textbrowser/dooble

Thanks Roberto, I'll raise a ticket against qtbase and investigate when time permits. Hopefully, I misapplied a patch and with the possible exception of the euro, it's a comparatively easy fix.

Hi Paul, looking at the trp file I posted, it seems libvpx is not right. Too many segments and no disassembly. (hopefully it isn't using AVX)
Might be simpler to just build libvpx and use the external libvpx.
Ugly Duckling (v1.13.0) was released on the 9th and it builds out of the box, though I did have to add -Zmap to build/make/configure.sh to get a map file and there's a couple of Bitwise patches that can be added later such as adding bldlevel info.

Hi Dave, will double check libvpx at some point to ensure all relevant bww patches are in there. I don't think I did anything specifically to prevent AVX, so it probably is using it.

What's Ugly Ducking? got a link?

Meanwhile, there's a fresh 'full package' at https://www.dropbox.com/s/2om1wusf843us7j/qt6-6.2.4-os2-20230214.zip?dl=0 which rolls up some of the fixes post the last full build into one package.

New is a built of Qt Positioning - which should help geolocation. html5test is still at 519 - I thought including QtPositioning might bump us up a little :)

No other significant changes in this...

Cheers,

Paul
