So.... I finally got qtwebengine 6.3.2 built...

There are some new warnings starting dooble like:
Code: [Select]
[64:1:0317/065341.318000:ERROR:system_network_context_manager.cpp(299)] Cannot use V8 Proxy resolver in single process mode.

& in loading some pages, we're getting:
Code: [Select]
[64:6:0317/065608.438000:ERROR:cert_verify_proc_builtin.cc(600)] No net_fetcher for performing AIA chasing.
followed not long after by a browser crash (which may or may not be related to the above)

I also noticed some re-draw issues re-sizing the browser window.

All in, I'd say this build really *isn't* ready for prime time, but in the interests of sharing - here's a link anyway: https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6-6.3.2-os2-webengine-20230317.zip

This can be unzipped over the top of any qt6 build and *should* work (with the caveats above)

Attached screenshot is running this build :)

Aiming to get all source checked in, and at least the net_fetcher issue resolved during today (my time)

OK - after getting home from getting the car services, I reviewed 3x TRP files from this morning.

These were all showing traps in:
Code: [Select]
Trap  ->  13ACD179   QT6WEBEE  0001:0755D179   _vp8_dequant_idct_add_mmx + 1EC6F2D 0001:0569624C (../../../../../src/3rdparty/chromium/third_party/libvpx/source/libvpx/vp8/common/x86/dequantize_mmx.asm)

It seems the configure process decided to use the - built-in libvpx rather than the system one I build a while back.

Re-linking qt6webee.dll now....

OK re-linking got past the libvpx trap, now I'm getting a trap in:
 Call Stack
______________________________________________________________________

   EBP     Address    Module     Obj:Offset    Nearest Public Symbol
 --------  ---------  --------  -------------  -----------------------
 Trap  ->  7B141D39   QT6WEBEE  0001:074A1D39   __ZN5blink31NonSharedCharacterBreakIterator23CreateIteratorForBufferEPKDsj + 1E9 0001:074A1B50 (platform_jumbo_68.o)

 056BD330  00006E65   Invalid address: 00006E65

TRP file attached - nothing obvious immediately jumping out at me, so for now I'll focus on getting the source changes checked in.

Hello Paul
I have tried it with two different computers, at work is worked acceptably well, the curious
I can not access the banks (lately I could not with the previous version, previously if I could use them)
  And the videos in Yotube, the ads badly, I had to start a video
In AV1 cut within a few seconds, change the resolution to 1080, and see it in VP9 format,
With a larger size than avitual. The one of a long time has been blocked, as the automatic format proposed to me
480, when putting 1080 the image of the sound decompenses.

With my personal computer, I have a trap just like yours, to the same point of memory.

I am sorry to tell you that for now I see few improvements.
saludos

Hi Roberto,

Thanks for testing - I did warn that there would be few improvements - but 6.3.2 is still an important milestone in getting us up to date.

Hopefully sometime in the next few hours, I'll have a 'full' 6.3.2 zip - including all the core libraries as well as the webengine. That will help rule out any issues causes by mixing 6.2.4 core libs and the 6.3.2 webengine.

I also spent some time last night cleaning up the build process for the webengine, so that I don't have to hand modify makefiles any more ;)

Also - for the brave - Qt 6.4.3 (minus the webengine) is at https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6-6.4.3-os2-20230318.zip

Cheers,

Paul

Hi

I want to be brave  ;D

Testing on my 4GB RAM VM ArcaOS 5.0.7.
- VIRTUALADDRESSLIMIT=2560 on Config.sys

For the moment I had tested the following Qt6 apps with Qt 6.4.3 and are working fine:
- Connectagram
- CuteMaze
- FocusWriter - Works but special characters not working. áéíóú ñ Ñ  (Same as before)
- Gottet
- IqPuzzle
- Kapow
- NovProg
- Qoobar - Loads but some crash with trying to save files (listed before).  (Same as before)
- Tanglet
- Stack and Conquer
- Heimer - Works but same issue with special characters. (Same as before)
- Zint - Seems to work, but gotta test further the "copy as PNG", etc. Shows some info on the console. (Same as before)

- Tea - Same issue with special characters.   (Same as before)
--And this warning.  (Same as before)
Code: [Select]
update_keyboards()
"C:/Home/tea/keyboards"
qt.core.qobject.connect: QObject::connect: No such signal QComboBox::currentInde
xChanged (QString)

But now Hexalate, Peg-E and SimSU, does not show the reported error... the "OpenType support missing for "Hershey-Script-Simplex", script 17"
So, this is an improvement for me.

- Scribus worked for me unzipping it on C:\scribus.
-- Special character does not work
-- Error message on save file.
-- some message on the console:
Quote
[C:\scribus]scribus
QProcessPrivate::createPipe: DosOpen(\pipe\Qt6\00000096\QProcess\0x1dfd84\Stdin)
 returned 231

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6-6.3.2-os2-20230318.zip is a complete Qt 6.3.2 build - including the webengine. Note the webengine has the same limitations I mentioned yesterday, the most severe of which is the SIGTRAP in:
Code: [Select]

 Hi Paul,

  Tried the new complete 6.3.2 20230318 version and it has the same behaviors and limitations as before with one exception I see so far: I can now print a web page! At least ones that will display, many cause the browser to crash (including OS2World). Other apps seem to work as well as before and examples have the same limitations (QML and Quick don't work). I'll give 6.4.3 a shot next...thanks!

Hi

I'm back to qt6-6.3.2 to test dooble.
I deleted .dooble and .pki and run Dooble without any special thing.
It loaded and I tried to access www.os2world.com.

I got some errors on the console and a exeptq trap.

Hi Everybody

FYI: Tellie has ported BibliteQ on QT 6.4 also for testing:
- ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/qtapps/biblioteq-v15022023-os2-6.4.2.7z

Please post any feedback if you like to.

Thanks to some valuable insight from Steven Levine, I'm hoping that the next build of qtwebengine 6.3.2 will be a bit more useful. Unfortunately, it decided it wanted to do a full rebuild, so I won't know until tomorrow!

Turns out I probably didn't need to rebuild the code after all.... Putting a copy of https://github.com/qt/qtwebengine-chromium/blob/cee5373e6119a7ee20ba5e941185f4a22104d46d/chromium/third_party/icu/common/icudtb.dat into \qt6\resources (overwriting the existing copy) should fix the crash in:
Code: [Select]
Trap  ->  7B0E2639   QT6WEBEE  0001:074A2639   __ZN5blink31NonSharedCharacterBreakIterator23CreateIteratorForBufferEPKDsj + 1E9 0001:074A2450 (platform_jumbo_68.o)

I was able to get another SIGTRAP pretty easily with simplebrowser.exe - but the maps.exe example is working nicely now. video.exe starts to play a video then exits silently... Dooble on this box is playing silly buggers and not loading pages at all...

Dooble on another box loads and can now render os2world.com - see attached screenshot. Note that trying any video seems to result in a SIGTRAP.

For simplicity - full package is at https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6-6.3.2-os2-20230325.zip
