With SimpleBrowser everything improves. I can even see your favorite musicians on YouTube.
But when opening ww.os2World.com I showed me the message I attached. If I click on yes , I get a gray screen. I restart the simplebrowser open Os2world without problems or message.
I can not respond the forum with Simplebrowser.

Edit: reading https://github.com/bitwiseworks/qtwebengine-chromium-os2/issues/24 the opus is likely due to my updated ffmpeg.... rebuilding it now with the rpm libopus

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/ffmpeg-chromium-6.3.2-20230516.zip should help with the no sound with opus.

I will built Dooble against the QT 6.3 libs - which might help...

Curious if https://smedley.id.au/tmp/dooble-2023.04.10-os2-qt6.3.x-20230516.zip works any better with the latest 6.3.x Qt code.

It doesn't - but I might know why now. bww ffmpeg is built with a whole bunch more configure flags than I'm using, rebuilding the chromium ffmpeg code now with the same configure flags as the last bww build.

I removed the older link as it didn't work. I've just reinstated it and opus audio works correctly now. h264 still seems to get stuck...

Paul,

Yep, Opus now works. I also can't get h264 stuff to work on the https://tools.woolyss.com website - that website also detects that h264 is not supported (doesn't show as green).

Also, none of the audio tests there from source 'dogphilosophpy.net' work, even though they are shown as supported. These ones give the 'ssl_client_socket' error and this one:

[102:30:0516/060632.356000:ERROR:cert_verify_proc_builtin.cc(678)] CertVerifyProcBuiltin for hpr.dogphilosophy.net failed:
----- Certificate i=0 (CN=hpr.dogphilosophy.net) -----
ERROR: Time is after notAfter

Don't know if this is caused by QT or something at the source...

Regards,

EDIT: Tried the 'dogphilosophy.net' stuff with QT5 and I get a 'Certificate Expired' warning, then allow an exception and they work. Is it QT or Dooble who handles the 'Certificate Expired' notification?

AFAIK - it would be Qt that handles the certificate expired notification -  I definitely saw one of those come up in my testing earlier.  Let me go looking for clues on h264....

Code: [Select]
Proprietary Codecs ..................... nowebengine-proprietary-codecs . WebEngine: Enables the use of proprietary codecs such as h.264/h.265 and MP3.

Now I am at work, doing a fast test.
With dooble from 10/04/23, when trying to open OS2World, I get the same Sigtrap error as with the Doble version of 05/16/23
dooble 16/05/23
 Trap  ->  BA9B82B9   QT6WEBEE  0001:074282B9   __ZN5blink31NonSharedCharacterBreakIterator23CreateIteratorForBufferEPKDsj + 1E9 0001:074280D0 (platform_jumbo_68.o)

I don't see improvements.
With simplebrowser
In my work computer, when opening Os2world, the first time I open Os2World, it shows me the error of the other day but with error 5
The simplebrowser here also works quite well, and I can see some video.

Hey Paul,

This one does seem a little better here... I can use YouTube for awhile, and most recent videos work (except a few want h264 - even html5test.com shows h264 is not supported). Eventually (maybe 10-15 minutes) I get either a silent exit or system hang. Am running with --ignore-certificate-errors and now am able to play the audio tests on 'https://tools.woolyss.com/audio-video-tests' (for some reason I do not get the 'Certificate Expired' error on QT6.3.2 - even with a new profile).

BTW - there is a newer version of Dooble available: 2023.4.20.

I'm almost certain this trap is because you're running an older Qt 6.3.2 build.

What date/time/size is \qt6\resources\icudtl.dat?

Please make sure you're running the most recent full Qt 6.3.2 build ie qt6-6.3.2-os2-20230422.zip

Confirming this was the issue with mp4. https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6webee-6.3.2-20230517.zip fixes mp4 videos (with the latest ffmpeg build too).

https://smedley.id.au/tmp/dooble-20230517-os2-20230517.zip is built from a git pull from today... so doesn't tie directly to a release...

Not tested by me.. YMMV

Cheers,

Paul

Thanks Paul! Yes, the new QT6.3.2 QT6WebEE allows all tests to play now (except h263 and h265) so it is the same as QT5. The new Dooble also seems to work well.

YouTube still has trouble like before, but one time I tried YouTube, Dooble window disappeared and it got into an endless loop of exceptq report creation (beeping all the way). I couldn't kill the console window, so hit <ctrl><alt><del> and rebooted. I'll attach the first report created (out of about 20).

Regards,
