Eventually it locked up the system, twice. Starting with a new profile, Dooble would vanish when it started rendering YouTube.

This is probably the ASM - the last 6.3.x builds that had working youtube used external DLLs for av1 and vpx and were more stable....

Quickly testing, much the same as the last drop. Test more tomorrow, it's bed time here.

hmmm I wonder what's different.....

Edit: my  bad, I used my manual makedll.sh script to generate the DLL, but forgot to update it to reflect the new DLL name (compared to the older Qt 6.2.x  build)  - so both drops are effectively the same code <sigh> refreshed 20231108b.zip coming soon

Might also be worth testing to see if https://www.os2.kr/komh/testcase/dav1d_test.zip works any better than my dav1d6.dll

Thanks Paul! My experience with this QT6 Dooble is the same as Dave Y. - YouTube silently exits, most websites render fine (and fast) but a few (mostly newspaper websites) will eventually hang the system. I still need to add the ad blocker list though - might help. Also still can't use a private window - that also causes a silent exit.

Hi Paul

For what I understand the strategy is to stabilize and test version 6.2.6 and try to get a solid webengine and browser experience with it.

What do you suggest me to edit the first page with? Should I remove 6.3.2 and 6.5.3 to focus on the testing of 6.2.6 ?

Thanks Dave - for silent exits, I'll post an updated libcn0.dll tonight that includes code to generate an exceptq report for silent exits.

I also realised this morning that I wasn't configuring the webengine with proprietary-codecs enabled - I started a build this morning with that enabled.

Running without single process, Youtube crashes in some MMX code in libvpx (libvpx/source/libvpx/vp8/common/x86/dequantize_mmx.asm) if I'm reading the trp correctly.

That shouldn't happen with the refreshed https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6-6.2.6-os2-20231108b.zip which uses an external libvpx...

Well, I deleted the Qt6 directory, unzipped it a new (thanks for fixing the zip), it wanted avcode59 so I copied over the FFmpeg DLLs and it started up without the external vpx113 or dav1d6.dll and is trying to run an AV YouTube video right now, got to about 20 seconds and stalled.
Searching, I do have KOMH's dav1d.dll in @nixroot\usr\local\lib from installing VLC, no vpx113 and it is not being used as I just renamed it.
Searching the qt6-6.2.x\lib directory for vpx, it is found in Qt6WebEe.dll, 262,231K 07/11/23/9:32PM
Dooble once again crashed in the same spot, though YouTube is still displayed with the video hung.
CPU usage is low too. Hmm, it is the main page crashing, the video I opened is still showing in its own tab.
I'd suggest others trying it without single-process.
OK, system hung, luckily SeaMonkey remembered this post after the boot.

Oops - forgot to copy it over. VPN'd in to home from the phone and have copied it over. Gotta love VNC :)

Sorry, seems I had the older https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6-6.2.6-os2-20231108b.zip
Code: [Select]

Now,
Code: [Select]

  inflating: qt6-6.2.x/lib/Qt6WebEe.dll

Maybe I did have the refreshed build, pretty sure I do now.
Wonder where Revision is set, somewhere in CMake?
Edit: Fix typo

That looks like the 'original' 20231108b.zip not the refreshed one.

md5sum should be per below:
\f0cef2050f20d5621460aa7c95fc14ed *\\qt6-6.2.6-os2-20231108b.zip

DLL name is now Qt6WebEn.dll NOT Qt6WebEe.dll

Edit: For the elimination of any confusion,  https://smedley.id.au/tmp/qt6-6.2.6-os2-20231109.zip is built  with -webengine-proprietary-codecs
