Converseen
« on: February 18, 2023, 12:55:49 pm »
Hi all
For the brave ones, i ported converseen to OS2, see https://converseen.fasterland.net/

I test a bit and converting works for the one i tested, png, jpg, tiff and from png to pdf.

ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/qtapps/converseen-0.9.11.0-os2.7z

I have include some new dll, please do not put them in you're path, but leave them in same dir as the exe so you have not dll hell :)

And its just for testing, to see if its working properly for us...

Best regards, Tellie

Hi Tellie

I want to be brave  ;D

On my system I'm missing ZIP5.DLL and I don't see it on your package.

I tried "yum whatprovides zip5.dll" but I haven't found it. Any idea where it is?

FYI: "Converseen is a Batch Image Conversion Tool, open source GNU GPL V3". It looks awesome to me. I want to try it and use it.

Hi Martin
When running yum whatprovides
libzip-1.9.2-1.oc00.pentium4 : C library for reading, creating, and modifying
                             : zip archives
Repo        : installed
Matched from:
Filename    : /@unixroot/usr/lib/zip5.dll

Maybe you dont have the exp on...

http://rpm.netlabs.org/experimental/00/zip/libzip-1_9_2-1_oc00.zip

Thanks Tellie
I did not have the netlabs-exp on the testing VM. I had installed the library and not Converseen loads.

I tried to convert some PNG to JPEG, and JPEG to PNG. The interface says everything when right, but when I see the JPGs they are all black images.
Even that it is creating the files, it is not converting.

I get a message on load that says:
"Unimplemented code.
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile"

Does it convert files on your side?

Regards

Hi Tellie

I got diverted by installing Netlabs-exp, that is done now.

But I still get no good output from the conversion. Preview is working.

I get this on load
Quote
[C:\DESKTOP\Qt6Test\converseen\bin]converseen
Unimplemented code.
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

When I click the "Open Destination" so it can open the C:\HOME folder it says.
Quote
The platform plugin does not support services.
But I guess is because of the Qt6 port.

Hi Martin,
could you send me the PNG file you try.
The error about the PNGlib, iirc this is not from any harm
The error about not supported is due the fact it's not yet implement in our port. (Correct me if im wrong)

Hi

This is the test PNG file: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:PNG_Test.png

I would love if some else can give it a try and let me know if it works on their side. This uses Qt5 and requires netlabs-exp libzip-1_9_2-1_oc00.zip.
I want to rule out if it something here in my VM.
