No, IBM issued patches for VA Basic, for some reason it was only available from the website and not from any of their FTP sites and I lost my copies of the patches in a Partition Magic related incident in 2000, by that time IBM had taken down the website.

Ok, thank you for the information. I was subscribed to the IBM OS/2 and DOS ServicePac CDs at the time. Only the full version of version 1.1 was included here. Unfortunately, a 1.5 or a patch could not be found. At least not until mid 98, after which I canceled the subscription.

Hello. So, officially we are looking for the VABasic 1.5 patch for OS/2 that used to be publicly available on the IBM support Site.
If someone has the filename, dead link, or (more important) the file, please let me know.

There was a large 1.2 patch for both OS/2 and Windows before 1.5, even that would be better than nothing as it solved a lot of issues.

I have a Beta of VA Basic 1.2.7 for OS/2, but it is easily available at www.vetusware.com. No idea if it works, but the install does. Tried to find a version 1.5, but no luck. Perhaps it was released on developer connection CD's like this:

https://archive.org/details/IBMDevConR2V2

which has a load of interesting stuff from the waning days of IBM OS/2. 24 CD's to downlaod... maybe there are other editions that can be dug up too.

Regards,

P.S. - anybody know how many versions of these 'Release 2' DevCons were made? Seems there were 3 levels, 'Member', 'Premium' and 'Advanced', and only sent to subscribers who had a subscription at the time the DevCon was cancelled (in 1997).

Hmm, Devcon_12 has 'VisualAge for Basic v1.0' and 'VisualAge for BASIC Server V1.0 for OS/2 (IBM).
So I assume need a newer one.

Hi Martin,
first of all, big compliments for your great work and for the idea of finding missing software.

I can help a little

The two programs are apparently no longer available on the Internet. The links I know are no longer accessible. But I have local copies and have attached these.

Regards,
Peter
