Archive tool problem
« on: May 05, 2024, 07:31:12 pm »
Hello all,

I have a problem with Archive Tool: it does not start anymore. No error message on command line either, no error in popuplog.os2.

I looked in the package manager and the reinstall option is grayed out. Only uninstall cannot be chosen, which I prefer not to (the wpi list of available packages appears empty, which is was not last week.. so something may have messed up my installation).

Any idea how to fix that problem?

Have you run CHKDSK /F on all your partitions?

You could try moving x:\sys\apps\anpm\repo_1.wir out of the way with ANPM closed and retry.
Almost sounds like a bigger problem with your wordpro problem as well, hopefully not hardware.

Hi Glenn

Have you tried checking all required files are available using pmdll?

Just checked my installed arctool package using anpm and I see that Reinstall is grayed out.
The list of Available Warpin packages is empty - I have yet to see this ever populated.

Regards

Pete

Here, the list of available Warpin packages is pretty full. Likely I have the correct URL entered as given on the testers list some time back. Unluckily I can't share it and it has been long enough that I'm not even sure of that.

Reinstalling any WPI that was included with AOS is really easy:

* mount the ArcaOS ISO file (doubleclick on it) or load the DVD you burned
* navigate to x:\CID\SERVER\ARCAPKG
* find the WPI you need and doubleclick on it
* ...done

Pretty much anything you'd want to (re)install can be found in one of the subdirectories of \CID\SERVER.
