Is FixPak 5 for WSeB 4.52 available anywhere?
RTAN:
I'm installing WSeB 4.52 for [insert sensible reason here ;D ] and naturally I'll like to apply the most recent FixPak. As I understand it the final released FixPak was FixPak 5 or XR_E005. FixPak 6 was never released as final code.
I can find FixPak 3 on os2site.com at the following link but I can't find FixPak 5 anywhere at all:
https://www.os2site.com/sw/upgrades/wseb/index.html
Does anyone know if they ever made that publicly available, or is the reason that I can't find it because it required a Software Choice subscription?
Thanks,
Richard.
Martin Iturbide:
Hello Richard
I don't remember exactly which fixpacks were available under Software Choice, those were not the IBM ftp. I think it was fp4 and fp5 the ones from Software Choice
Regards
RTAN:
Thanks very much Martin.
I tried installing FixPak 3 (XR_E003) but when I ran Service.exe it told me that it found no products to service. I presume therefore that build 14.089 is equal to, or more recent than, FixPak 3.
If FixPak 5 ever turns up online anywhere I'll try again. I can't search Archive.org for the time being because it's offline due to a data breach and DDoS attack :( Honestly, who would do such a thing?!
Richard.

I think MCP fixpak packs where never official released to the public. You needed access to software choice. For OS/2 Warp 4 you also have fixpak 16 and 17. Could only be officially downloaded from IBM SWC website. So finding MCP 5 is likely to be very difficult.

Steven Levine:
Richard,
You can do some cross-checking to determine if the Fix Pack should have installed.
Run syslevel.exe to report the content of your \os2\install\syslevel.os2 file. Then compare this to the FP3 readme.1st which lists the versions of OS/2 that the Fix Pack should apply to.
You may also have an \os2\install\syslevel.fpk that records with most recent Fix Pack install.
