Hi!

A stupid question:
In which language are messages issued under an OS/2 prompt command window if a specific AcaOS build is installed ( e.g. ArcaOS (DE) ) ?
Are most of messages in english ? or are all of them translated into OS base language (I hope not)
What about message out of this command ?
With unpluged network / with network up.
nslookup -retry=1 -timeout=1 127.0.0.1

I could not test locally.

Arca Noae is spending a LOT of effort to make OS/2 talk in different languages (I don't know the details). Currently available versions only speak English, although some programs do more than one language. More details should become available, as language support is readied for distribution.

I believe the goal is to translate everything translatable, commands on the cmd line themselves are likely not translatable but I don't really know.
If you want English for some things, you often could change to an English msg file, probably work for the command prompt. Some programs have the resources translated, in which case you should be able to use the version from the English ISO

Under programs or GUI, you may issue prompt commands and get back messages through pipes for analysis.
It would be best to always have them in English (original) or it could disturb some programs/GUI

Programs or GUI could have any language of course.

For ported programs I often use 'set lang=' before running them. F.i. gcc with German error messages is a mess for a long time programmer. Also for yum or such I like the English messages way more than the German ones.
