Epson L4150 Scanner - USB

(1/6) > >>

Martin Iturbide:
Hello

Yes, I want to try it one more time. I want to see if the embedded scanner in the Epson L4150 printer will work on ArcaOS.
I failed in the past, but I stopped trying - "USB Scanners and ArcaOS"
...and I want to try it before the lights runs out.

Specs:
- Thinkpad T14S
- ArcaOS 5.1.0 UEFI
- AN USB Drivers 12.16
- Installed sane-backends and sane-backends-drivers-scanners 1.0.28 from RPM.

It is "04b8:1135"

0x04b8 should be the one.

Run ScanImage:

Martin Iturbide:
Hello

Reading a past thread, I think I need the "SANE utushi backend" to be ported, to give it a try and see if this scanner works.

Regards

Jan-Erik Lärka:
1.0.28 does't work for me either, libc panic, while 1.0.27 do work, but I had to download an additional library that output large amount of debug messages. I use it with PMInSANE that also work with the one included with tame.

Paul Smedley:
Looking at http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html you need the epsonds backend. Not sure which sane version introduced this.

Yup, exactly the same issue I have with that particular 'scanimage -L' command, however, all my scans actually work just fine, except that each scan job does produce an ugly exit, which my REXX script ignores.

Take a look at the REXX script I've written. You should look at the setups I have in there at the start and override and/or remove the stuff you do not want, in particular the following as they are specific to my install:

--- Code: ---...
   viewer_path       ="G:\APPS\GRAPHICS\TOOLS\PMVIEW\"  /* PATH to the viewer */
   viewer_name       ="PMVIEW.EXE"                  /* EXE name of the viewer */
   winmv_path        ="G:\UTIL\MISC\"     /* PATH to the window move utility  */
   winmv_name        ="PGMCNTRL.EXE"       /* name of the window move utility */
   winmv_params      ="/PO:1940,672 /THISSESSION" /* window move utility parm */
...

--- End code ---

Point being: running 'scanimage -L' is a problem, otherwise scanimage.exe works just fine when passed specific scan parameters here.
