[X:\]scanimage -v   1>output.pnm 2>debugoutput.txt

The external process was cancelled by a Ctrl+Break or another process.

--- End quote ---
debug txt

--- Code: ---Output format is not set, using pnm as a default.

Paul Smedley:
hmmm it doesn't appear to even trying to use epsonds

I'm not interested in the TRP - that appears to be just a shitty port/compile - seems the rpm sane TRPs on every run.

try:
set SANE_DEBUG_EPSONDS=255
set SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_USB=255
set SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255
scanimage -v  1>output.pnm 2>debugoutput.txt

SANE_DEBUG_DLL in particular should show us if it's loading epsonds or not

Also maybe try scanimage -d epsonds -v  1>output.pnm 2>debugoutput.txt

Pete:
Hi

Does the scanimage line need a -d parameter? eg

   scanimage -v -d epsons  1>output.pnm 2>debugoutput.txt

Pete

Hi Dariusz,

Sorry to take so long to reply but I have had to rebuild my computer .  As I said all the scanning it done over the network into a directory used for it - I have the choice of them being saved as PDF or JPG files  and since those are standard file types I can either store them or print them as needed.

Also maybe try scanimage -d epsonds -v  1>output.pnm 2>debugoutput.txt

--- End quote ---

Here it goes with "-d epsonds"

--- Quote ---[X:\]scan
[X:\]set SANE_DEBUG_EPSONDS=255
[X:\]set SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_USB=255
[X:\]set SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255
[X:\]scanimage -d epsonds -v   1>output.pnm 2>debugoutput2.txt

--- End quote ---

debugoutput2.txt attached.

And the other one:

--- Quote ---[X:\]scan
[X:\]set SANE_DEBUG_EPSONDS=255
[X:\]set SANE_DEBUG_SANEI_USB=255
[X:\]set SANE_DEBUG_DLL=255
[X:\]scanimage -v -d epsonds  1>output.pnm 2>debugoutput3.txt
--- End quote ---

debugoutput3.txt attached.

I don't see any scanner activity.
