Have you looked at DFSee? There's an option to install to a minimal Linux USB stick or if you get your USB Linux stick booting, running DFsee from it.
..
BTW, is it a hard drive or SSD that is giving you problems?

I have DFSee, but now i have no access to it ... how exactly should i use it to rescue my partition?
it's a hard drive, no SSD..
i tried gparted. It had no problem with my partition E:, but found no access to C: (same as OS/2 now)...
Dave Yeo:
Two ways. Download https://dfsee.com/download/dfsee_install.zip and use the Linux version with your Linux that you ran gparted from or download either the Puppylinux or Freedos USB images and boot the USB stick.
With the Linux version, you may have to run it as sudo, "sudo ./dfsee"
andreas:
thanks. i'm going to try that. just downloaded the package. Also downloaded virtual box for linux.
how do i use dfsee in my case? i don't want to make any mistake.
Dave Yeo:
Have to see what DFSee has to say about your partitions. Hopefully it will report something fixable.
andreas:
have a problem to install DFSEE with Linux. I cipied the files into the install folder, but cannot find this folder under linux.
I will try it with my ARCAOS-installation-stick, though I'm afraid i might destroy that stick as well as i destroyed some others.
edit:
same as on the linux-stick, the dfsee-files are not seen/accessable once you start the OS. I gave up. Sent the disk to some company to recover the data..
anyway, thanks for your help
