Win-OS/2 - Open vbesvga.drv video driver

<< < (8/8)

Martin Iturbide:
Hello

I had problems with the latest version 0.9.4 on my current VM.
- https://github.com/PluMGMK/vbesvga.drv/releases

But I tried the same version (0.9.4) on my vanilla VM and it worked. So, I have no idea why it works on my Vanilla VM, and not on other one.

I repeated the basic install on C:\OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM.INI
[boot]
display.drv=vbesvga.drv
386grabber=vbevmdib.3gr

[VBESVGA.DRV]
Width=1920
Height=1080
Depth=24

And I have HD resolution on full screen Win-OS2 session with the mouse that can now access all the screen. This is on my ArcaOS 5.1.1 BIOS Virtualbox VM, results may differ in different hardware.

Hi/2.

What's your WINOS2 mode, Standard mode or 386 Enhancd mode ?

If 386 Enhanced mode, check if display=vddvbe.386 is in [386Ehn] section of SYSTEM.INI.

Martin Iturbide:
Hello

It was basically something in the SYSTEM.INI. I replaced the one working with bad one and now I have full HD resolution on Win-OS/2 in the VM that was not working. It was an stupid error from my side of a missing [ on  "[VBESVGA.DRV]". I'm attaching is my good system.ini.

I guess it runs in 386 Enhanced mode since the Win-OS2 settings I checked (attached screenshot). KO Myung-Hun , I don't know if you recommend something else to improve any performance.

Hello

I shared the links to vbesvga.drv at the ArcaNoae Testing mailing list. I'm hoping it can be evaluated and can be of use to other users.
