I can not reproduce your problem. I remember that long, long time ago sometime that problem shows in ArcaOS 5.0, but I no longer experienced that problem.
Do you have some other WPS Enhancer like eSchemes or Imagination? Anything else ?
Maybe you can run "ClassLst > remyClass.txt and compare it with mine (Attached) to see any rare registered class.

Nothing added.
My desktop is as it was provide by AOS, just organised it in an other way and some added programs
There are some differences and a few more entries into mine but I don't know what it will do.
Here it is:

Hello Remy
I checked your WPS classes list and I haven't found anything strange. I even install some of the ones you have to try it out and I was not able to replicate the issue.

Could os2 ini file size have an impact ?
Mine is very big and it can't be reduced a lot having it reduced several times.
Any debug or log file available during the install time ?
or could a build without "WPPngCache class" be provided to check if this could be the culprit ?
I display png icons for the elements placed on the desktop and ico into folders.
The ugly is that it always show png for icons under properties despite I set it to ico and would like use ico only when seen under folders

Hi Remy,
I don't know if this intentional or not but on your system "WPPngCache" class is not registered.
But it is easy enough to register via XWP by specifying "WPPngCache" as the class name and "C:\SYS\DLL\PNGDESK.DLL" as the SOM DLL containing the class.
Or had you backlevelled to 2.5.2.2 while you where dumping the class list ?

Yes, I took the class list dump after having backleveled to 2.5.2.2
