Zoc and Transfers
Dan Eicher:
Trying to use Zoc with AOS 5.1
Everytime I try to transfer a file, Zoc just closes.
I've tried with two different types of USB > RS232 cables.
I tested Send and Receive by typing on the keyboard.
What other terminal program should I try?
Steven Levine:
At what point during the upload request process did ZOC terminate?
Did you check for popuplog entries?
There's lots of serial terminal program options. See
https://hobbesarchive.com/?path=/pub/os2/util/remote
FWIW, ZOC has always been my goto and pretty much trouble free, although it's been a while since I used it for file transfers over serial.
Dave Yeo:
Just to be clear, in the root of your boot volume will be a file called POPUPLOG.OS2 which will contain basic crash supports. If there is one for Zoc, post it.
Dan Eicher:
On the target machine, windows/terra term, I say receive Z modem file.
On the sender machine, AOS 5.1 + Zoc, I say send file, you'll get a warning, if you don't have rts/cts enabled, the transfer might be unreliable.
As soon as you pick your file, Zoc packs it up.
I'll see if I find anything in the crash log and post it next.
