Dynamic Icons Issue

Martin Iturbide:
Hello

What do you think it is the issue that is shown on the pic?
The PNG files on the upper folder does not show as thumbnail icons.

It is ArcaOS 5.1.1 with Dynamic Icons 2.5.6

Hi Martin

What do you have set to display png files?

I have PMView set so png files display the PMView icon here - even those in the BIGICONS directory until I set PMView Icon Thumbnails to Automatically Create when using PMView File Open on a directory containing png icons eg BIGICONS.

Regards

Pete

Martin Iturbide:
Hello Pete

PMView is the default application to open PNG files. But I don't think that should affect to see the thumbnail on the desktop.
Is there any other setting that can produce this ?

I you open them into pmview and just do save on each, you'll see icon...
"may be it is related to ea's"

Why is this "problem" attributed to Dynamic Icons? D.I. converts an object's OS/2 icon to a variable-sized PNG image which it then displays. It has nothing to do with thumbnail creation. Nor for that matter do generic folders ('WPFolder') - they don't create them either. For automatic creation of thumbnails, you need a "Lighttable folder" ('MMFolder').

If you have the latest version of 'oo', you can use it to convert a normal folder to a lighttable:

    oo /B C:\sys\icons\WhiteLightBlue MMFolder
