There are many good Thinkpad laptops:
Thinkpad T61 (Frankenpad) with IPS display,
Thinkpad X61 Tabet with IPS.
X200 Tablet with IPS display,. ..

You can use standard SATA 2 disks, SSD disks.

I think the IDE interface in the HD slot can only recognize one disk. My CF-IDE converter has two CFslot but when I push two cards then system could not find any disk.

Risk of non-compatibility between the disk and the adapter, I bought them anyway, so we'll see, I'll let you know  :)
