GitHub Repository - Public OS/2 Source Code - Feedback

<< < (2/4) > >>

guzzi:
Martin, do you know how big the total os/2 github source rep is? I think it's a good idea to have one or more copies of all that stuff so it won't be lost in case of...) After all that work it's worth it to store a few copies locally.

Martin Iturbide:
Good question

Right now all the files are 4GB (non-zippped) and 1246 repositories.  I have one copy here in my machine and other on GitHub. So it is a good idea to have another backup since we never know how long GitHub will be there.

I'm thinking on packing it and upload it somewhere, but when I say I'm done I always find more source code to upload. I think I will make a total backup this weekend.

There are also ways to clone all the Git repos from a organization but I didn't try them yet.
For example:
1) http://stackoverflow.com/questions/19576742/how-to-clone-all-repos-at-once-from-git
2) http://www.aheritier.net/clone-all-repositories-from-a-github-organization/
3) https://gist.github.com/caniszczyk/3856584

But I haven't tried any of those. If anybody clones it and suceed please let us know.

It's pretty small compared to modern hard drive standards) You could upload the zip file to me by ftp so I can keep a copy if you want. If so, I'll email you login and password.

Martin Iturbide:
I will prepare the file for this weekend.

If anybody has more source code around that the repository is missing, please let me know.

Martin Iturbide:
Ouch!!.. I just found all this - http://kimludvigsen.dk/os2/gfd/dev/xmpl/index.php
