ATI Radeon 9800 XT and DOS Window Session/Win-OS2 seamless
« on: July 27, 2014, 03:52:34 pm »
I'm looking for a solution to get DOS session (Window) - Win-OS2 (Window) with this video board. For some reason VSVGA.SYS in eCS2.2 B and in earlier versions, doesn't work with this ATI (based in R360 chipset). I've already have tried things like adding the switch /int10textgrfxsafe to VSVGA.SYS in CONFIG.SYS and rebooting, but I had the same DOS window with a cursor blinking and nothnig more. Anyone knows a solution for this?

Thanks.

ATI (based in R360 chipset).
ATI problems go back to 199x  or so. Try to delete or rename svgadata.pmi. If it isn't there it will be created, that's what can be found in the newsgroups.  I'm not sure if this will be the case in today's solutions, that answer was given when we still operated with different drivers for different cards. The file svgadata.pmi is a text file, so you can open it and see what driver is called. May be its calling a different driver than what you had in mind.
