Hi All,

hobbes.nmsu.edu is offline while the server is checked, due to some errant PHP scripts being found in incoming (with jpg and log file extentions) that actually worked to allow remote access.

It''s back when it's back.
Cheers

The ftp server is still up so access through ftp://hobess.nmsu.edu  works with anonymous login.

Funny enough, os2site.com and my email is now offline.
Someone cancelled my broadband apparently, that will take some explaining from my providers.
No idea how long it will take to get it back.

Funny thing is my other phone line still has ADSL provisioned on it but its dynamic, and I cancelled that account over a month ago but here I am, getting out on that line :)

Broadband here is becoming a joke.
Cheers

Ian, that sounds as if they got the phone line numbers mixed up, that happened to us a couple of years ago (someone with a phone number xx xx xx xx 04 cancelled their line but it got mixed up with ours xx xx xx xx 40 - took ages to sort out, hope you do better).

Hi Ivan,

Different lines with different providers and provider owned DSLAM's.

All back up properly now, the phone numbers were ok but someone cancelled my username at the provider, that's been put back and the static IP reapplied so all good again, I shouldn't complain as it could have taken a lot longer to sort out.

It was very precis at my end, about 2359Hrs and boom, DSLAM exchange connection ok but no session.
so midnight must be when account cancellations go through, when there is no customer service people around :)

Hi

Hobbes is back, but I was told that the incoming directory view is not enabled. I think it means, you can upload software via ftp, but you can not see what it is on it. So we will have to wait until the "incoming" stuff is moved to the "new" directory to see it. Am I understanding it right? Or is there any way you can see the things on the incoming folder.

Regards

If you search for something in incoming such as SeaMonkey, files in incoming are returned. At that point you can download it. Just tested with http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/incoming/seamonkey-2.21b1en-US.os2.txt
So you just need to know it is there.
Notice also that using ftp to browse incoming returns an empty directory :(

Now incoming via HTTP is back as well. Haven't checked the upload facility.
