RAM memory limit for DOS sessions
« on: November 08, 2014, 07:15:39 pm »
Hello. I need to allow more RAM memory for DOS sessions on eComStation 2.1, but I don't know how to do it (It's my first time using eCS). This is because I want to play Blood, and when I start the game it gives me a warning saying there are only 15mb of ram available, and that it needs 23mb.

With 15mb the game runs a little laggy... So I'd like to be able to set the required amount of ram memory.

Please help!

P.S.: The laptop's total amount of memory is 64mb.

Create a program object for blood and then go into the properties --> DOS properties click the DOS memory settings dot then  OK and play around with the memory settings. You probably need to up the DPMI memory limit setting to 24 or 32 MBs.
You'll also want to set blood to use full screen mode as most likely it won't run in a window.

Open the templates folder and drag the program template to the desktop. The properties will open,  enter the program name, working directory etc in the program tab, in the session tab choose DOS full screen, do the memory stuff now or later,  fill out anything else you want such as an icon. Drag to where ever you want the program object to live.
Double click to launch your game.

Of course now a days, you can just find the program using the drive object and right click and choose create program object.
