how to restore command prompt (window)?
« on: January 24, 2015, 02:57:29 am »
I was trying to figure out how to increase the size of the command prompt (window) and I've screwed it up now so when it is opened it comes up "full screen". Can't figure out how to restore it to normal operation. I would like to be able to adjust its size similar to how Linux does it, if possible. But looks like that's possibly not do-able. When compiling its just too small.
Thanks for any ideas.

Ignore this post, I figured out how to restore it! Sure would like to change the size of the window though, so more lines of code could be displayed in it.

Create a program object with * in the Path and file name field and /K "mode co80,100" in the Parameters field and give it a title such as Big Cmd Prompt or whatever. Clicking the object will open a 100 line cmd prompt
Adjust the mode command to suite, IIRC 103 lines is the maximum in a window

Another trick is to work in epm. Start epm, click the Shell button or under Command--> Create Command Shell. Use much like a regular cmd prompt. Long scrolling history of the shell and under Command-->Write to Shell you get a history of commands you entered.
Only problem is sometimes EPM gets confused after a lot of use.

Hey! BIG thanks to both of you!  It's made life much easier when compiling.

Yes, there must exist a memory leak in EPM. It also crashes after loading (and unloading) of several hundred small files. Additionally, the file size for one loaded file is limited to about 60 MiB.

Its command shell mode is useful for 'make' calls. Note that the Vio functions don't work in PM mode. Therefore in some cases which require user interaction, e.g. for Yum, the return key has to be pressed blindly to let the waiting program proceed. ANSI escape sequences would make the output quite unreadable. They are filtered out in NEPMD > 1.00.
