Dropbox plugin for NetDrive
« on: January 28, 2015, 06:10:12 am »
I asked for help to use the dropbox plugin for NetDrive, but no one on OS/2 World was able to help.

I downloaded the RPM file and the readme from the BitWise Dropbox folder. (The password is bww)

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9nnktlb5z3iihbb/AAAbSkkvXHHPU7wSVbk2JxUea?dl=0

It turns out that you can install an RPM file directly using yum

yum install ndpdbox-0.4.0.b5-0.oc00.i386.rpm

The yum installer will hang. That's OK, just reboot the computer.

After the computer is rebooted, find the NdpDBox folder and the icon for "Dropbox Authorize".
Run Dropbox Authorize (\USR\SHARE\DOC\NDPDBOX-0.4.0.B5\DROPBOXAUTH.EXE) and log in to your dropbox account.
Go back to the Dropbox Authorize screen and save your secret file.

Go to NetDrive and create a resource for dbox. Enter the full path to the secret file you created, your userid, and registration key.

This should create the share and you should now see your dropbox files.

I hope this helps others use the dbox plugin.

I can not help but am very interested in this as well.

I was not able to get a clue with the documentation, a manual for Dummies would be great!

OK, I have this working and have updated the front page of the thread.

I copied 2 GB of files to Dropbox, and NetDrive crashed half a dozen times.
