Business Interoperability Interfaces
« on: April 24, 2015, 08:06:46 pm »
Hi,

Businesses and authorities keep implementing "EHF - Electronic Trading Format" , meaning that they can receive and send invoices/credit notes (and lots of other stuff) in a "special" format. Believe they use "some xml-format" .

Sooner or later we have to offer this to some of our clients, and possibly convert ps or pdf to the "EHF" specifications could be the solution.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Per

A lot of reading here:  :-\

Is there anywhere that the format is defined as in an ISO standard or is it something that each government implements on their own?

Edit:

We do have a xml editor available, it is a Qt4 app [qxmledit-0.8.13] and it does open the UBL-Invoice-2.1.xsd found at http://docs.oasis-open.org/ubl/prd3-UBL-2.1/xsd/maindoc/UBL-Invoice-2.1.xsd which is the sample given in the PDF in the post above.  The only problem with the editor is that it assumes a knowledge of xml.

Hi Per.

Here in Ecuador the SRI (our local IRS - Revenue Service) has implemented a digital way for invoices/credit notes (and other stuff) since last year.  Even that I can not say that Ecuador is a worldwide technological example, the results here had not been bad.

When you shop on a store, the Point of Sale connects to a software that the SRI provides via Web Services, exchanging some xmls, the SRI approves the authorization and the Point of Sale (the store's software) sents to your email the xml and/or PDF or your invoice.

The local system here even provides a poll of pre-autorization that the stores has, in case the SRI goes offline or timesouts.

I don't think they used a global standard (except for the xml) I think they made it them-selfs. I will try to find some documentation.

Hi.

I'm sorry, but all their stuff is in Spanish: http://www.sri.gob.ec/web/guest/10116

Maybe you can check it out to see if there is something of interest.

Thanks Ivan and Martin,

Ivan, yes, there is a standard somewhere. Haven't read it all yet but it is mentioned something in the "little" pdf document I linked to in my first post. Seems to be some EU standard with some minor changes to "fit" local laws.
I have to read more to get the full picture.

Martin, this is a system for sending orders and invoices ,and more, between companies and also the authorities as they prefer this format to ease document flow when purchasing.  They import the invoices to their accounting systems. Less manual work for the receiver and faster handling of information.

There is an European electronic documentation foundation that has been issuing standards since the 70's who's name escapes me at the time , electronic document/data interchange (EDI) was  a hot topic during the x.25 era.

According to http://www.nets.eu/no-nb/support/Test%20og%20Implementering/eFaktura%20B2B%20Utsteder/Documents/Imp%20guide%20eng.pdf
The Norwegian EHF format is based on CEN BII, this site has all you need to know about the format/protocol:
http://www.cenbii.eu/deliverables/cen-bii-2/cwa-16558-bii-architecture/
Reads like a it's very complex but actually is not that bad
the Data is housed in UBL forms, which are available from here in XML format:
https://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=ubl
Lots of XML editors and parsers available for OS/2, the communication bit (CEN BII) should be implementable in REXX with a couple of libs
