Arca Noae licenses source code for SNAP Graphics for OS/2
Pete:
Hi All
I seem to recall switching resolutions "on the fly" (without rebooting) was possible with a beta build of Scitech Display Doctor - but this ability disappeared in the release build. Sorry, cannot remember which SDD beta build and no longer have any of the SDD builds in my backup system.
Regards
Pete
Dave Yeo:
The question is "how important is switching resolution on the fly or at all in this day when most of us are using LCD monitors that are designed for one resolution?"
My wishlist, taking into account the limited manpower available,
(1) Fix the SMP issues such as ensuring MTRRs are set correctly for all CPUs. This one should be easy.
(2) Merge in the fixes and enhancements that Panorama has added to gengradd. Hopefully also fairly easy.
(3) Expand chipset support. This will vary on hardness with some hardware, perhaps ATI, only needing some updating and other hardware being harder but with specs freely available should be doable. Intel would be one example that may be doable.
(4) Really wishing here, hardware opengl support for a few chipsets, probably the ones where specs are freely available. Doubt this will be done.
Eugene Tucker:
This is great news period that we can get driver support for video cards.
Eugene Gorbunoff:
About change of resolution,
Better implement such feature:
Vertical flip (Mirror vertical)
+ This is important for tablet laptops (several Thinkpad laptops, HP, Dell, ..)
+ this feature maybe implemented in current situation
Eirik Romstad:
Switching resolution (or even better allow for dual display = lcd screen + projector) is important so that one can use eCS computers for presentations. On my previous laptop (Thinkpad T43) this worked well with SciTech/Snap, but I think that was an earlier version than 3.18. I am looking forward to the recovery of these options as that will greatly enhance the value of my eCS installation (and end the days when I have to move presentations/lectures to my Win partition).
So, best of luck with these additions on Snap :-)
Eirik
