Warpstock Europe 2016 homepage -- http://warpstock.eu/

What topics to discuss at the conference?

Seems that the most actual topics are:
*    DRV: critical problems in drivers
*    DRV: UEFI compatibility
*    DRV: Tablet computers
*    Community: How to attract young users
*    Community: How to attract professional developers and engineers
*    Usage: What applications to create / to port?
*    Usage: How are you going use OS/2 in the next 5 years?

Hi

This are good topics to discuss for people that like brainstorming and get inspired by different ways of thinking.
I would love to see a topic like:
* What you think should be the long term future for the platform?

It can be great if at Warpstock (both) can be set an open table with some panelist to discuss this subjects with their opinions. Is it call "Open Panel" on english? or is it just "Panel Discussion"?

I'd like to add:

* status of ArcaNoae's roadmap (issued on os2world Friday, 21 November 2014 02:10)

I guess we are in the longterm phase right now  ;)

Are the short and medium term projects still alive? Are there changes to the roadmap, cancellation of activities, etc?

See http://www.os2world.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=20634:arca-noae-roadmap&catid=79:general&Itemid=518

This:

<Quote>
Support for accessing unpartitioned/non-LVM USB sticks (large floppy) greater than 2GB
</Quote>

has already been done by me. The only thing that remains to be done is to find a way of how to DISABLE the "partition virtualization" (because that is what is done under the hood in order to access large floppy media) so that you can actually reformat the WHOLE media and truly partition it (that is: to switch from large floppy to a partitioned media).

Hi

The long term strategy should not only be drivers, and that Arca news post was time ago before announcing that they are going to create Blue Lion.  We always lived with the premise that the manufacturer should set the strategy for the product, we don't have the manufacturer long time ago (formally since 2006). I guess we need somekind of long term strategy to be (at least) discussed.

I don't think (personal opinion) that Arca Noae is right now on the place to create/execute a long term strategy for the platform since they are working on releasing Blue Lion.  They need to recover the space lost by eCS first.

But creating an open table on Warpstock to just discuss this subject will be great.
