It loads through until it reaches doscall1.DLL then crashes. Yes

Ah, if you're using the WinWorld images, I noticed a lot of them seem to be buggy except for a few (this is due to corrupted virtual floppy images in the ISO). Give this one a shot if you haven't:
IBM OS2 Warp 4.52 Server For e-Business (4.52.14.089_UNI)

I was getting the 'doscall1' error on fully supported hardware, I switched to the 'IBM OS2 Warp 4.52 (4.52.14.086_W4)' image and it installed without issue.

Although the T61 is technically not supported, but I am curious to see (once you've confirmed you're using a good image) if it actually runs.

I don't think you can run a stock OS/2 distribution out of the box on a multicore laptop....

Maybe you can, but I couldn't work it out.

You are correct John.  The install was designed for the computing equipment available then although we did use some SMP motherboards back then.

For todays computers you need to make an updated CD that has such things as the latest fixpak and the dani drivers but once you have that there is generally very few problems with those being related to network cards and video drivers.

Could it be a hard drive size issue?
It should fail with another message, but you system otherwise seems compatible with anything from Warp and up, does the computer have a floppy drive?

The hard drives are 80GB and I have two but I think it's the two hard drives but I could be mistaken.
No but it does have a Zip drive but it is not connected and have two optical drives one is a DVD-rom and the other is cd-rom all connections are sata

By 'Pentium' do you mean Pentium D, or Pentium 4? If you're running a Pentium D that's a dual core CPU (and every literal sense of the word since they use two discreet dies), then that's probably the issue. If it's a Pentium 4 disable hyper threading just to see if it changes anything.
