Title: Mouse single-click in WPS
Post by: Ramon Perez on February 22, 2023, 08:24:41 pm
Is it possible to open files and folders in ArcaOS with a single mouse click?
How?
For me is more handy.
Thanks.

Go to System Setup-->Mouse and then check out the mappings tab. Not sure if you can do it.

Thanks Dave, but there is no such option in mappings tab.
Let's see if someone knows any trick or third-party programs.
Regards.

Hi

I was curious about it. I tried to do it and I can not find a way to do it.
Not sure if it is possible. For what I see the Mappings page does not allows to change the "action click" to only "Single Click".

Regards

Thanks Martin, I have already seen that it is not possible to do it using the system.
Maybe someone who knows some third party program...

I have also answered you to another old post:
"Win-OS2 full screen session- Mouse moves choppy / Half screen (https://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,2640.msg28975.html#msg28975)"
Read it, it may be of interest.

Hi Ramon

If you have a 3 button mouse you may want to experiment with Mappings ->  Page 6 -> MB3 Click Action

The Help states: If "Double click" is selected, then all MB3 clicks will be converted to mouse-button-1 double clicks. This allows you, for example, to single-click on any Desktop object with button 3 to have the object opened.

It does work - but if you have MB3 setup to open a new tab in a browser you get the original page and the new tab both loading the link you clicked. To get around this use Ctrl-Click (MB1) instead of MB3.

Regards

Pete

Along those lines, if you have more buttons, others can be set for single click too. My mouse has 5 buttons with button 4 changing scrolling vertical/horizontal and button 5 pushing the current window to the back, both could be changed to single click.

Right, fixed, Pete.
It works as you say using the middle mouse button. But I have to disable it before to open the browser on the host, because I'm using VirtualBox.
Although somewhat elaborate, it's okay, thanks. :) :) :)

Hi

That's a good workaround I didn't know. Thanks for sharing that Pete.
