For new user trying it output:
[D:\OpenTTD]openttd
Error: No available language packs (invalid versions?)

the important thing to look for is to check what version you're trying of OpenTTD and download the Windows-32-bit .zip (for OpenTTD 14.1: "openttd-14.1-windows-win32.zip") package that contain all the files needed, unpack them (except openttd.exe) next to openttd.exe by Paul.

Hmmm trying setting the set lang to en_us....

It might fix it :-)

You might be overestimating my interest levels in getting midi working ;)

For most OS/2 installations (except if you are in a VM). Midi with Tmidity will not work anyway as uniaud only supports one audio channel.
So you can not have wave audio and MIDI active at the same time.

Thank you Paul for getting this work!

No never tested that with MIDI.

Sorry

No workey for me. Per Thinkpad Forums.
Some people have luck with using m2>ide sleds. Maybe it depends on model of ThinkPad, maybe it's the m2 adapter, tends to be in the air.
I also tried a real transcend solid state ide drive.
Receipts: https://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=137515

Also, if you very electronically talented, you can convert a T43 to run SATA, but that's above my pay grade and no one does that thing commercially.

Or just a google search for SSD PATA

I find this brand: Transcend Industrial PSD330
They have SSD up to 256 GB.

Dave, I added a note to the ticket.

Thinkpad forum recommends that to speed up operation, you boot from the internal HD and put data on a PC Card with a compact flash adapter, like:
Compact Flash to PCMCIA Ata Adapter CF to PC Card Adapter PCMCIA Ata Adapter for Cf 2 Card (Come with 512MB CF Memory Card)

Can someone point me to some docs on how to get this up and seen under ArcaOS 5.1.1?

With OS/2 I would stay away from that as far as I could. The cards I not easy to setup and they are slower then USB I think.
Thinking about this you would need to play around with the PCMCIA drivers and possibly some drivers from Veit Kannegesier.
Or maybe the Danis506.add has some support for it . I think its 15 years ago I last worked with PCMCIA on OS/2.
Thoughts from other people ? My personal opinion its not worth the headache.

BTW do you have an SSD in the T43 ? Or a disc with revolving platters ? You can install an SSD I think in T43 if you have not done so.
That will make that old machine fly if it does not have an SSD in it yet.

I think music required midi support. I think audio samples did work. I am not certain its so long ago ? :-)
Martin can you confirm if the audio effects worked ?

It works here.

No sound but graphics are loaded.

Its better to follow the steps in the instruction of AN to get your stick working.
Otherwise you will not get there.  Its not just adding the LVM information.

Setup & Installation / Re: pscom.sys proper way to pass args

Its very hard to analyze at a distance this but it sounds at first glance something is wrong with the system. Plenty of people have installed ArcaOS on a T43 without an issue.
I am not saying the system is broken but the behavior is strange.

I checked on google I can not find picture of serial port on the system. However is there a serial port with 9 pins present on your T43 ?

Why pass along the argument in the first place ? PSCOM should autodetect the serial. Does that not work ?
Also is the serial port only active when connected to a docking station ?

The ArcaOS development environment I paid EUR 150,- for does not work at all !

Had a nice time with OS/2 - I really loved it - and thank you for all the support you have given.

Well where was advertised that ArcaOS was a development environment ? BTW the networkstack in ArcaOS is the same as eComStation and MCP 2.
So you it should fail on older versions of OS/2 as well.

Virtualization / Re: Win-OS/2 - Open vbesvga.drv video driver

Oh, it works here, too!

Edit: Here is DBCS, Korean.

Are you running a UEFI boot of ArcaOS or in BIOS mode ? When WIN/OS2 did not work, what did not work ?

Thanks.

Hi Roderick,

Would you have any insight into why this driver doesn't work with EFI? I would report to the developer, but don't want to just say 'It doesn't work'...

Regards,

I do not know. While I can understand people want to try other Windows 3.1 drivers. My first response is to no try the this VESA based Windows 3.1 driver with UEFI support.
The UEFI support indeed has a very very minimal VESA BIOS. Most of the support for this lives in VEFI.SYS.
I think you can get high resolutions with the Windows 3.1 driver from IBM.  This driver best I understand simply does not lean on the VESA BIOS.

Thanks Martin. I don't get a hang, it just doesn't even seem to do anything.

One thing I noticed I hadn't before - there are new WinOS2 settings for VEFI. Looks like they are probably mostly DOS oriented, but not clear...

Regards,

These settings do not influence WIN/OS2.

Neil,

I have never seen a mem /v result where the available high process memory is HIGHER than the available virtual memory. Like Steven says, that seems not right. Do you have all settings in your BIOS that reference 'Above 4GB...' turned off?

Also - what motherboard are you using? A testlog file might also be helpful...

Regards,

Just to be clear that has influence on the total amount of memory. This setting has todo with PCI MMIO regions that are will be remapped when booting ArcaOS in BIOS mode or in UEFI mode. It should not have an effect on the amount of memory you have. Or does it ?
