Hi to all
Because of a recent computer disaster, I find it necessary to reinstall arcaos.
I made a successful usb stick and it boots computer ok, gets to the point of
unpacking installation files to memory and throws error msg in big red letter
"packed data crc failed". Having never encountered this error before I find
myself in need assistance.
Any thoughts, suggestion and help will be gratefully apprecitated
Thanks in advance

Check the MD5 of the ISO file, and make sure that it matches what it is supposed to be.

Doug his advise is correct.
Just a note. The code outputting this error is not even yet OS/2 it self booting. This well the preboot menu/boot menu of Veit Kannegieser. If your machine has a DVD driver, burn a DVD if the MD5 checksum of the ISO matches.

Doug and Roderick
Thanks for reply
will do MD5 later this evening

I had a similar error having the wrong case for the ISO, lower case instead of upper case IIRC. Easy to do if you created your stick on a different OS that uses vfat.

dave
thanks, iwill look into that possibility

To all who replied, thank you, however I got lucky and found
an early download of arcaos 5.0.3, built the usb stick from
that and install went very smoothly. Glad to be back in business
with ARCAOS
