Applications / Re: Recommendations: File Managers?

FC/2 by Brian Havard has been my go app for over 15 years and is worth the cost to register.  FM/2 is also available as a manager, but was more complicated than I needed.

Applications / Firefox 45.5 Install issues
« on: May 20, 2017, 04:46:18 pm »
Following directions for install I cannot find "hunspell" with the ANPM and the program won't start without it.  Also can't find libjpeg-turbo.   Any suggestions or is this a mistyping by the bitwise folks?

You might try SysInfo from Alexey Smirnov.  I just have the beta 0.8, but it gives me a lot of that info.

Setup & Installation / Re: Installing OS/2 on 320GB disk

Just partition it as JFS bootable if you have eCS 2 or above.  If you only have OS/2 Warp 4 you'll have to use HPFS and 64 gig is the limit there.  HTH

Hardware / Re: Anyone successfully using Brother HL-5470dw?
« on: February 07, 2016, 05:22:03 pm »
For my Brother HL-3070CW I juts installed the OS/2 PSCRIPT.Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS driver and it worked without a hitch. I used the SLPR driver for a network port and it's fine.  Just for your consideration.

Storage / Re: NAS and OS/2?

I've got one of the 2 TB MyCloud devices and have it plugged into my router by network cable.  It works fine on windows and my eCS2.1 boxes.  I use NetDrive on OS/2 to communicate, but I think you could use Samba.  On the Win7 boxes I use www.netdrive.com which is the same name, but different software.  You can use it free for one connection.

Applications / Re: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 RC3
« on: August 23, 2014, 06:22:07 pm »
Thanks to Pete, Boris and Lewis I got all the dlls downloaded with yum and set the beginlibpath with .\.   Tried to start the AOO with X:\openofffice4\program\soffice.exe and got a further down error.
This error message says: exception occured raising singleton "/singletons/com.sun.star.deployment.ExtensionManager":   loading library failed: file :///X:/openoffice4/program/../program/deploy.dll"

I looked and the deploy.dll is in the directory noted.  Any further suggestions?
Again I realize it's a RC and I appreciate the help so far.
Thanks

OK, I installed the "https://www.dropbox.com/sh/350r8h2dpuxsg8w/AACiO6nvExrjsIVGBvqaeKqAa/aoo/Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.1_os2gcci_install-arc_en-US-rc3-strip.zip" file.  Unzipped it into OpenOffice 4 directory and tried to run the soffice.exe after updating my yum.  Get error message "failing module:stdcpp6" which I think is a missing dll update.  Any suggestions what I need and where to get it?
Thanks

Paul, I know you have to put a lot of time into an issue like this and I'm sure I would be willing to pay some for use of this program under OS/2 - eCS 2.  I would even put money up in advance, just like a number of us put in money for the Hobbes, and the new OS/2 World setup.
