Title: HP Color LaserJet MFP M477fdw
Post by: Per E. Johannessen on July 27, 2016, 02:51:12 pm
Just thought I'd inform that I got this printer to work with an old HP Color LaserJet 3700 ps-driver, incl. duplex,
using SLPR. This model seems to have lots of functions, not supported by the ps-driver, ie scanning to a network
folder. Will report more when I, hopefully, get it set up right.

One of the reasons I stick with HP printers, they all seem to work with the old(er) drivers minus the extras.

...... ie scanning to a network folder. ....
My HP Officejet Pro X476dw MFP is a similar device but inkjet. Scanning to folder (samba share on my eCS machine) works fine. Even email translation of incoming FAX messages works. Only problem I see with Alex PSPRINT Generic PostScript driver is, minimum margins on A4 sheets are at least 12mm which I think is not correct for this printer.

Scanning to a folder (Samba share on a NAS) works fine here too.

By the way, HP claims; This printer wakes up and prints faster than leading competitors.
Not that I can verify that, but it really is fast compared to other HP-printers I've had.

I was planning to try the PS-driver from Alex but minimum 12 mm margins could cause troubles for the docs I need to print.
Read somewhere that minimum margins for this printer are 4,23 mm.
