Title: intel 82579
Post by: shortslim on August 20, 2016, 08:43:31 pm
I recently installed a new motherboard, an ASUS E7977_P8Q77, which has an Intel 82579 NIC.  Which NIC drivers will work.  The old bard was a ASUSP8B75-M, which had a Realtek 8111F NIC.  The old Board worked and allowed me to get online.  There are other problems, but I was hoping that when the version of OS/2 eventually comes out, at least a couple of them will be fixed.

Thanks

Hi

I don't have that NIC but have you tried Arca Noae Multimac drivers?. The E1000E driver has support for some 8257x but it does not specify the 82579.

Arca Noae Multimac (binaries) are sold on their site and I recommend supporting them since they are one of the few companies supporting OS/2 these days.

Regards

I don't have that NIC either, but the E1000B driver (in the same package) is likely to work better than the E1000E driver.

Thanks for the tip.  I guess I'll have to subscribe to Arca Noae before I wanted to, but it will be a while.  Thanks all.
