Setup & Installation / Re: Startup.Cmd not executing
« on: August 11, 2020, 09:03:42 am »
This is kind of strange, on my T540P Notebook, my startup.cmd does not automatically start at boot. I have to manually execute it. Now this is the only system that this happens on. Any ideas on why this is happening or actually not happening?
You could put startup.cmd to XWorkplace Startup Folder and set Initial delay and Per-object delay. On my system (ArcaOS 5.04) ePDF PrintMon object (Print2PS.cmd rexx script) didn't start at boot, when it was in OS/2 Startup folder. It could start manually. Now it is in XWorkplace Startup Folder and starts every boot. XWorkplace Startup Folder Initial delay is 3000 ms and Per-object delay is 1000 ms.

Hi David,

  It's working just fine here - system sounds, WPS MP3 objects and YouTube - all on ArcaOS 5.0.5 on bare metal 8086:A170. Thanks for continuing to progress with this! Any chance for multiple streams (so system sounds don't interrupt something else, they are just mixed in)?... or even surround...

Thanks for testing. In terms of multiple streams - I believe the SBLive driver supported this so it definitely should be possible to support.
Therefore, I use the SBLive driver, it works flawlessly. The downside of RAM is only 2 GB, exactly on this computer Memory Watcher shows 2180716 KB installed memory. If there is 16 GB more, the sound is distorted. Installed at 4 GB, the ramdisk uses almost half.

OS2LDR.CFG
Code: [Select]
RAMDISK = MIN=1836 HPFS Q:
HIDISK = RLOW=128 RHIGH=0
RAMDISKNAME = RAM disk

Browser cache, TMP, TEMP and swapper.dat are on ramdisk Q. Swapping (rarely happens) is pretty imperceptible.
This is Dell OptiPlex 960 and sound card is Creative Labs - SB Live! EMU10k1

Gmane stopped working here some time back, just tried with SM and it timed out. I'm subscribed to the mailing list, which is low volume. Start here, http://www.netlabs.org/site/community.xml
I use ProNews/2 and recall Gmane didn't work for few days some time back. Latest post I see in gmane.org.netlabs.community:

Be aware that on OS/2, you must eject a USB drive before physically disconnecting it. Failure to do so may cause the drive to be marked as "dirty" and inaccessible until chkdsk is run. The easiest way is to use the "USB widget" on XCenter (from a commandline, you can also use "eject X:"). Also, be aware that once a drive has been ejected, it must be physically detached and reattached before it can be mounted again.
On my system it is not necessary physically detach and reattach drive to mount it again. 'USB widget Refresh' on XCenter usually do the job.

So far it works ok, but graph in CPU pulse a little bit out of screen.
More than a little bit, over 50% pulse graph does'nt show at all.

The widget relies on XCenter to give it the dimensions of its window - and sometimes XCenter gets it wrong. If that's the case here, then you can easily fix this.

First, expand the width of the widget; the graph will redraw itself. Wait a moment, then restore it to your desired size; again, the graph will be redrawn. Does this fix the problem? If not, try increasing the height of XCenter. Let it reformat itself, then restore the original height.

One or the other of these resizing actions should cause the graph to be drawn correctly. If not, please let me know.
Resizing made no change.

PMDownloader v1.0 saves download url in Comments: field.

Seamonkey 2.35 saves image file download url in Subject: field, when you use MB2 menu and 'Save Image As...'

Also you can put download url manually to Subject: field.
