Hardware / New AN acpi-3.23.03.exe crashes my TP X250
« on: October 12, 2016, 10:51:06 am »
I just tried to use the new Arca Noae ACPI driver (acpi-3.23.03.exe). With this package my Thinkpad X250 hangs on the boot logo. Back to acpi-3.23.02.exe it starts normal.
I make several tests. Every time same hang on boot logo.

Setup & Installation / Thinkpad X250 & eCS
« on: February 05, 2016, 07:25:36 pm »
Dear All,

I just want to let you know about my effort to install OS/2 (eCS v.2.1) on a new Thinkpad X250. Goal was to transfer my existing system from Thinkpad X200 to new X250, dual boot Win & OS/2 via AirBoot. On X200 I have working installation with latest drivers from Arca Noae. Not working on the X200 are Bluetooth and built in camera. Everything else including Ethernet, WiFi and USB are working fine.

Installation on X250 from USB-CD/DVD-ROM failed. eCS v2.1 startet up to maintenance screen bot no HDD was found. eCS v2.2 BetaII even did not start up from CD/DVD-ROM.

By suggestion from Sigurd I tried to clone my existing system using DFSee. :) This finally worked after some trouble with partition alignment.

Status now on X250 is a working eCS v.2.1 with ACPI showing 4 cores, full support of native screen resolution via PANORAMA, working USB (mouse and thumb drive tested as well as USB keyboard in docking station) after disabling USB3.0 in BIOS. Not working at this time is network (neither Ethernet nor WiFi). It will need more investigation what might be possible there.

If there is any progress I will let you know.
Greeting from Potsdam / Germany,
Mike

Applications / Coolreader 3.1.2
« on: January 10, 2016, 08:18:41 pm »
Hi,
Does somebody get the new Coolreader version 3.1.2 running?
Missing DLL "fntcnf1.dll" alraedy found with this link "http://rpm.netlabs.org/experimental/00/zip/fontconfig-2_11_94-1_oc00.zip". But it still refuses to start. It was not noted in the "install.os2" that this dll is needed. However without it I got a failure notice if missing FNTCNF1.
All packages listed in install.os2 via RPM/YUM installed and are actual according to ANPM.
What else might be missing to get it running?

Greetings from Potsdam/Germany,
Mike
