Title: Directory safebrowsing in 38.8
Post by: Joop on October 04, 2017, 02:19:11 am
There is a directory in the profile of FF38.8 with the name safebrowsing. Is there a way that you can monitor its contents. The problem is that I have a forum which won't start in ff38.8 but do start in ff24. I can't figure out why and I suspect this directory which might contain information which is not right.

I doubt that is the problem, it's a database of unsafe sites, like phishing or malware containing sites, https://safebrowsing.google.com/ (https://safebrowsing.google.com/). I usually turn it off as it sucks a lot of bandwidth, go to about:config and search for safebrowing, I think the important ones are browser.safebrowsing.malware.enabled: and browser.safebrowsing.downloads.remote.enabled.
You could always move the directory out of the way (with the browser closed) to test
