Title: Desktop Backgrounds
Post by: David Graser on January 08, 2018, 08:21:42 am
I know ArcaOS can use BMPs, JPGs, and PNGs as backgrounds.  I would like to convert my bmps to PNGs.  I don't like JPGs because the file size is much bigger.  Is there anything I need to be concerned with?  I have used PNGs and have not encountered any problems.

I'm not an expert but it seems that both jpgs and pngs have their own advantages. Jpeg might be better for things like landscapes.
One thing to consider is different resolutions of the desktop and how many resolutions of backgrounds you want to create compared to re-scaling.
