Hi,
I'm now running ArcaOS on VirtualBox, however video performance in 16 million colours is pretty awful. I went down to 32k colours, and it is a lot better, but still performance, especially Firefox isn't great.
I've seen a YouTube video of ArcaOS in VirtualBox and that is running a lot better than mine is:

So, are then any options for making this run a bit better? My host is Win10, 16GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics.
I'm interested because I'm thinking of using ArcaOS on VirtualBox on a laptop vs. actually try to install natively. At least then I get wifi, sleep, touchscreen support etc. without worrying about driver support.
Thanks
Garry

Install Guest Additions if they are supported:

If not, try and find a VESA driver for ArcaOS. VirtualBox prefers this to SVGA/VGA. Make sure you allocate enough video ram to the VM. It's odd that you said you dropped the number of colors; everything I read about VirtualBox says it works best at high color mode. (it takes more CPU cycles to limit the colors?)
Oh, and zooming can sometimes hurt performance.
