Hi Per

You have not yet stated which versions of libssh2 and libcurl are involved.

Setup & Installation / Re: Updated qt5 files?

Hi Dave

I tried a new profile with no success - dooble simply crashes after a few minutes of trying to import the dooble_filter file.

There does not seem to be anything wrong with the file, opens in e.exe with no problems, so can only guess that something in the qt5/*nixy support files may not be at the correct level. I doubt it is memory related as dooble behaves the same when the system is rebooted and dooble is the only app started.

Hi andreas

You may want to look through this discussion https://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php?topic=3864.msg47573 and see if you have the support libs mentioned installed.

You can also mark all the dll files in the AOO4 program directory to loadhigh. You have to be more selective in usr/libs but I cannot remember which dll files to not mark to loadhigh, Sorry. Hope someone else can join in with the "exclusion list"...

Hi Per

Is libcurl also at the latest 7.75.0-2? - If Yes go back a level, if No maybe try the update.

Same applies if libssh2 1.11.0-1 is installed.

Hi Per

Do you have installed the latest libxml2 2.12.4-1.oc00 (from netlabs-exp repo) installed?

If Yes maybe revert to an earlier version eg 2.9.10-3

Hi Dave

Thanks for those but I am having trouble getting dooble to import the dooble_filter file, dooble simply crashes; ie does not respond to any clicks and cannot be killed. Yes, I know it can take a couple of minutes to import the file but 40 minutes later...
No problem importing the accepted/blocked file.

Hi

OO 4.1.7 working on ArcaOS 5.1.1 (real hardware) using the below config.sys values allows me to also run Seamonkey without problems

THREADS=512
VIRTUALADDRESSLIMIT=2560
PROCESSES=128

Will have to get around to updating to OO 4.1.11 sometime...

Hi

I suspect "drivers for hardcopy devices" means printer drivers, aka "*.drv".
Graphics drivers have dll files  - those using Panorama will find PANOPMI.DLL and PANOGREX.DLL in [BootDrive]:\OS2\DLL, I'm sure snap also has dll files - maybe "PMGRE.DLL is a simple forwarder DLL" to whatever graphics driver is involved?

Hi All

Thanks to Dave and Paul dooble-2025-02-28-Qt5 now running about as well as it ever did ie avoid any sites using lots of javascript as that seems to crash dooble pretty quick.

Hi Dave

I think the dooble qt5 fix that allowed dooble to load local html files was the result of Paul fixing that problem in qt6 ...
I know that the fix exists as I have the bookmarks.html file listed as a dooble favorite which would not be possible without having loaded the bookmark file.

Hi Dave

Applying the above qt5 libs and updating dooble to dooble-2025-02-20-qt5.zip seems to have helped - oh,your above ftp.os2voice.org/rpm url does not work, gives a 550 cannot change directory.

I'm now looking for the update that allows dooble to load local html files...

Setup & Installation / Updated qt5 files?
« on: March 08, 2025, 05:29:14 pm »
Hi All

Following an ArcaOS 5.1.0 to 5.1.1 upgrade - possibly some files got backlevelled - I can no longer get dooble qt5 to run at all, it traps on starting. The exceptq log shows a problem with QT5WEBC.DLL (09/25/2021).

I seem to recall there were some updated qt5 bits posted on os2world but I cannot seem to find them. Can someone point me to the post(s) involved - might be useful to get the latest dooble and any related files as well...

Thanks

Pete

Hi Martin

'
 the latest version of SMForum is not compatible with out version of Firefox and we will need to switch to Dooble.

Have to hope that qt/dooble become useable before the switch becomes necessary...

Hi All

For those considering running with the ACPI PowerManager disabled I can recommend water cooled systems as being less likely to overheat - unless the pump fails :-)

Hi Neil

You could try exporting your whatever browser current bookmarks to eg bookmarks.html then open that html file in dooble - Voila! bookmarks!
Come to think of it do *not* save the bookmarks.html to the .dooble directory because dooble will not let you open files in that directory.

Pete
