To answer your questions.
fntcfg2.dll 05/01/13
freetyp2.dll 05/01/13
jpeg.dll 19/12/11

All the dlls you list are in \os2\dll or the program directory.
search on hobbes for chkdll32 and see if poppqt44.dll and popp34.dll can load all dependencies.

and it would not hurt to install qpdfview 0.4.2 beta 1, as it has some fixes also. but qpdfview 0.4.2 uses popp36.dll instead of popp34.dll

Thank you Silvan.

Out.txt was blank
out2.txt is attached.  The qpdfpdf.dll is in the same directory as qpdfview.exe, I also tried with it in \os2\dll and got the same results.

to load qpdfpdf.dll you need at least libc065.dll, Qtcore4.dll, QtXml4.dll, gcc446.dll, stdcpp.dll poppqt44.dll, popp34.dll, tiff.dll, jpeg.dll
so either you miss one of those or it's a wrong one.

I have z.dll, jpeg.dll, djv.dll, fntcfg2.dll and freetyp2.dll in \os2\dll so the question is what am I missing.
from what date are the fntcfg2.dll, freetyp2.dll and jpeg.dll?

i'm not 100% sure but it might be a broken warpin database. please rename the warpin database, install qt4 and other apps again and the rename the warpin database back. and of course be sure you don't have warpin entries for the apps you want to install via rpm

please try to redirect the output with qpdfview >out.txt and qpdfview 2>out2.txt and see if there is an error. as there must be a missing dll. and i'm almost sure the latest qpdfview readme is exact on what you need.

which cups do you have? you need very latest cups.dll from Paul, as older ones did not work with Qt Apps.

The big problem I find with qpdfview is that if I try and open a pdf on another partition (qpdfview installed in e:\qt4-apps, want to open pdf in f:\download) it locks the machine solid and I have to power off and then on again.

do you have that with other Qt apps as well?
could you describe your system a bit more? and how was Qt installed? did you open a ticket in either Qt Apps or Qt?

hm.. silvan worte that qpdf will not have a plugin-based system. Beside that, it is full OK to shift some "standard" app to qt-based counterparts. At the end our system is less complex and easier to maintain. So thanks for the port!

BTW: the readme of qtpdfview is wrong:

"yum install jpeg" does not work, it is "yum install libjpeg"

Is there really a need for cups.dll? Actually cups-server is only installed on a server. I do not want to have a full cups-install on every machine.

that was really a typo. qpdfview is now getting....
i changed it already. and i will also fix the readme.

There are a couple of reasons Lucide is slower. One is that Lucide is poppler based, but it uses a older poppler.
Lucide is so many drawbacks (IMHO) that i gave up on it and ported Qpdfview. Qpdfview is now getting a plugin based system also. This means with Qpdfview 0.4.0 (coming soon) you can view PDF and DjVu files. If i have enough time also PS will be there.

Of course Lucide could also get the lattest poppler engine, but for that someone needs to do the work. poppler changes api a lot and those api always need to be changed by Lucide as well. This is a big issue and I'm not going to do that anymore.

so I'm sorry, but IMHO Lucide is a dead end by now.

The other problem was development moved on under the assumption of IPC existing so more things didn't work. I had to remove various things like battery status that were aimed at mobile devices anyways. Eventually most of the HTTP code was rewritten in such a way that I didn't have the skills to fix it.
Also I go through phases of working on it, then getting sick of hours of typing #ifdef MOZ_IPC #endif, then trying to figure out the remaining unresolved symbols.
At this point I feel that without IPC support which Rich estimated at a man-month of work for a skilled developer we won't go on. It is being worked on though not by me.
IPC will gome very soon we hope. We start working on FFox >10 (probably 17 or 18 direct) at the beginn of February. IPC was done since very long for VPC, but not many ppl know of it and Mozilla refused to include the patches back then.
So stay tuned for an official announcement.

Setup & Installation / Re: eCS 2.2 YUM/RPM question
« on: January 18, 2013, 04:55:19 pm »
please also see http://svn.netlabs.org/rpm/wiki/RpmHowToEndUsers it explains some needed yum/rpm commands. With those it's easy to find out which app installed which files. And also which packages are installed at all.
And yes we are aware of the need of a gui. It will come once.

Applications / Re: Java bugs are not fixed?
« on: January 04, 2013, 08:45:16 pm »
As I'm the manager of OpenJDK and others I think I should write some sentences.
I don't want to go into a large discussion here, as it would lead to nothing in my eyes.

As one of the bugs was for a special Java App and the App Dev fixed the thinggy I closed the bug. I really see no reason to let such a bug open. If there are more Apps behaving the same, open a new bugrepport. And we will for sure look at all bugs when time permits.

About sponsoring:
If a milestone is funded, does that automatically mean it has to be bugfree? Every milestone needs testing and we test against some Java apps. But we really can't test everything.
Does it also mean, that when a milestone is funded, that bugs have to be fixed, if no more funding is left? I don't think so.

New versions:
I'm afraid that a 1.7 will not be around very soon, as we really lack of sponsoring. And you can be assured i would like to have a 1.7 very soon.

Developers:
A deeloper need his salery as you need one too. Dmitriy is fulltime emploeed and does nothing else than Java, Odin, Flash, Qt4 and so on. So he needs his salery and I need sponsorings to pay it to him. Without the help of some larger companies and individuals like Mensys, bww bitwise works, OS2VOICE) we could even not be where we are.

I hope this clears the situation a bit and if not please mail me privat, as I don't want to discuss some decission we do in public.
